1. Data protection legislation
The KMDA will comply with all applicable data protection legislation, both national, European, and international, with respect to all Personal Data received.
Personal Data will be considered “all information about an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable person is a natural person who can be directly or indirectly identified using an identifier, such as a name, identification number, location details, online identifier, or elements specific to that person's physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural, or social identity)” (“Personal Data”).
This Policy does not apply to the data you share through linked websites. If the KMDA creates a link to another website, the privacy and cookie statement of the website in question must be consulted to determine what happens with the Personal Data.
2. Purposes of the processing
KMDA will process all Personal Data you provide for the following purposes based on the legal ground of “legitimate interest”.
- Processing data for purchases and delivering products, e.g., entrance tickets, subscriptions, etc.
- Processing registrations, including registration forms and competition forms.
- Responding to your inquiries, including reservation forms, contact forms, competition forms, and application forms;
- Responding to your job application (such as an application form);
- Tracking the required personal and medical data when visiting a first aid station;
- Creating a profile for purchases on the Website;
- Answering the email you send to the email addresses listed on the Website;
- Improving Website management and quality through the use of cookies.
If you have given explicit permission for this, your Personal Data will also be used for:
- Processing your registration for our newsletter;
- Sending direct marketing, newsletters, campaigns, and promotions;

2.1 Information and marketing mails
KMDA may send informative marketing communication, both online and offline, to the provided Personal Data.
Informative communication is designed to keep you informed about important changes and practical information. These may include changes related to events, parking options, pricing, and other practical details.
Marketing communication aims to provide you with commercial messages, discounts, invitations to events, and more.
You can always revoke your permission for marketing communication by unsubscribing through the newsletter or by sending an email to privacy@kmda.org. KMDA will consider the revocation of your permission from the moment it is received.
2.2 Cameras and footage
Security cameras have been installed in all the KMDA locations for the purpose of security. These cameras will always be labelled with the icons required by law. If you have any questions about this, you can always contact camera@kmda.org.
Photographers may be present at visits and events organised at a KMDA location and pictures and footage may be taken. This footage will be captured during regular opening hours and exhibits. If you object to the use of specific pictures or footage, please submit your objections to privacy@kmda.org with a detailed description of the relevant footage and its location of publication, providing the most accurate information possible. The KMDA will take all necessary actions after receiving the revocation or objection as soon as possible.
Any pictures taken will be kept by the KMDA or the processors engaged by the KMDA for taking these pictures.
3. Transferring personal data
The KMDA will not sell, rent out, distribute, or otherwise make your Personal Data commercially available to third parties, third countries, or international organisations, except when there is a legal basis, like a payment platform.
The provided Personal Data will only be processed by the KMDA in the context of the visit to parks or buildings of the KMDA, the organisation or sponsoring of events, or participation in events organised at the KMDA. In the case of events, selected data will also be shared with the event organiser (first name, surname, and email address). These Personal Data will only be transferred at the request of the organiser.
The KMDA will not be liable for the processing of Personal Data by the organiser in question but will impose strict organisational and technical conditions on this processing. We refer to the general terms and conditions of the organiser for the further processing of the Personal Data by this party.
In case of promotional campaigns and discounts (such as company discounts, employee discounts, and the like), Personal Data may be shared with the organiser (such as the employer) for identification purposes. These Personal Data will be shared at the organiser's request, following a limited risk evaluation by the KMDA.
In case of restructuring operations or a transfer of activities of the KMDA during which it restructures, transfers, or ceases its company operations, or if the KMDA goes bankrupt, your Personal Data may be shared with new entities or third parties. The KMDA may need to disclose your Personal Data based on a court order or in order to comply with laws or regulations. The KMDA will always reasonably attempt to inform you in advance unless this is not permitted based on statutory limitations.
4. Duration of the processing
The KMDA will keep and process the Personal Data for the time necessary to achieve the purposes of the processing and for the contractual relationship between KMDA and yourself. The KMDA refers to the subscription conditions, the general terms and conditions, and the cookie policy set out below in this document for specific retention periods.
5. Security of Personal Data
The KMDA implements organisational and technical measures to safeguard Personal Data against destruction, loss, falsification, unauthorised access, or improper disclosure to third parties, or any other non-permitted processing.
The KMDA can never be held liable for any direct or indirect damage arising from the incorrect or unlawful use of Personal Data by any third party.
You are responsible for any use of the Website from your computer, IP address, and identification details, as well as for preventing the disclosure of your login credentials and code.

Every individual always has the right to unsubscribe from each marketing email without providing a reason.
